zkLink (ZKL): The Future of Multi-Chain Decentralized Applications
What is zkLink (ZKL)?
zkLink (ZKL) is an advanced blockchain infrastructure designed to unify fragmented liquidity and simplify the development and use of dApps across multiple blockchains. By leveraging zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology, zkLink offers high throughput, low-cost transactions, and enhanced security, addressing the challenges of the multi-chain landscape.
How zkLink (ZKL) Works
Key Components
zkLink operates through two primary components: zkLink Nova and zkLink X. Each serves distinct purposes but together, they create a robust environment for multi-chain interoperability.
zkLink Nova: The Aggregated Layer 3 Rollup
zkLink Nova is the industry’s first aggregated Layer 3 zkEVM Rollup network built on Ethereum and its Layer 2 rollups (L2s). Utilizing ZK Stack’s zkEVM, zkLink Nova is EVM-compatible, enabling developers to create and deploy Solidity smart contracts easily. This platform allows for the aggregation of scattered assets across Ethereum Layer 2s, facilitating interoperable transactions and enhanced liquidity.
Key Features
● Native Asset Aggregation: zkLink Nova enables users to deposit assets from Ethereum Layer 1 and Layer 2s directly into its network. These assets are locked in canonical rollup bridge contracts on the source chains before entering zkLink Nova. This feature provides applications with access to native tokens from all connected Layer 2s, allowing users to trade multi-chain assets seamlessly.
● Supporting Universal dApps: Being EVM-compatible, zkLink Nova supports various dApps, including decentralized exchanges (DEXs), lending platforms, GameFi, and SocialFi. Developers can deploy these applications on Nova’s open platform, gaining immediate access to liquidity and native assets from integrated networks like Arbitrum, zkSync, and Linea.
● Stack Agnostic to Supported Networks: zkLink Nova can connect to rollups of different stacks, including ZK Rollups and Optimistic Rollups. While this sacrifices atomic interoperability of cross-rollup transactions, it offers broader liquidity aggregation from the Ethereum ecosystem.
● Low Fees and High Scalability: The modular stack of zkLink Nova provides exceptional scalability. The use of ZK Stack reduces execution costs significantly, offering a fast and cost-effective user experience. In Validium mode, an external Data Availability (DA) solution further reduces transaction data costs.
● Ethereum Equivalent Security: zkLink Nova inherits Ethereum’s security by settling transactions through the zkLink Nexus solution. Each transaction undergoes verification via ZKP and multi-chain state synchronization through canonical rollup bridges, ensuring data consistency and security.
zkLink X: The App-Specific Aggregated Rollup Infrastructure
zkLink X offers a modular infrastructure for creating customized App-Rollups with their own sovereignty. These rollups can access native tokens across connected L1s and L2s, enabling users to trade multi-chain assets on a unified interface without needing cross-chain asset bridges, thus avoiding associated risks and fees.
Key Features
● Network Integration and Settlement Layer Solutions: Developers can choose which chains the App Rollup will access, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Solana, zkSync, Starknet, and more. zkLink X provides the Nexus and Origin settlement solutions to meet different network integration requirements.
● Execution Environment: zkLink X supports both TS-zkVM (Trading-Specific zkVM) for high-performance financial applications and zkEVM for universal dApps. This flexibility allows developers to build optimized environments tailored to their application needs.
● Decentralized Sequencer: To mitigate centralization risks, zkLink X aims to integrate decentralized sequencer solutions such as Espresso, Astria, and Fairblock. This approach enhances network security and transparency by processing transactions across a distributed node network.
● Modular DA Solutions: In addition to Ethereum, developers can choose third-party DA solutions like Celestia, EigenDA, and Avail, or a Data Availability Committee (DAC) organized by zkLink. This modular approach ensures robust data availability for different use cases.
Trading Specific zkVM for High-Performance DEX
The TS-zkVM is a high-efficiency ZKP execution environment specifically designed for high-performance financial products such as central limit order book (CLOB) DEXs. It features tailored ZK circuits and a Risc0 zkVM extension, providing exceptional performance for various trading scenarios. The TS-zkVM architecture includes:
● Storage Sub-layer: Utilizes a Sparse Merkle Tree (SMT) for efficient state management and verification, tailored for high-frequency financial transactions.
● Execution Sub-layer: Divided into precompiled circuits for high-performance transactions and an extension circuit using Risc0 zkVM for custom operations.
● ZK Proof Aggregation Sub-layer: Aggregates different transaction proofs to produce a single proof, increasing verification efficiency and reducing on-chain costs.
ZKL Goes Live on Bitget
As the native utility and governance token for the zkLink protocol, ZKL allows developers to access zkLink's App-Rollup infrastructure and pay for zero-knowledge proof computational resources. It also plays a crucial role in zkLink's decentralized governance, influencing the protocol's development and, in the future, enabling participation in zkLink Nova’s decentralized sequencing network.
ZKL is now available for trading on Bitget. Trading ZKL on Bitget provides an opportunity to engage with and support the growth of zkLink's innovative blockchain solutions.
