Eigenlayer to distribute 86 million tokens in Season 2 stakedrop
The Eigen Foundation has announced the launch of its Season 2 stakedrop, distributing 86 million EIGEN (CRYPTO:EIGEN) tokens to stakers, ecosystem partners, and community members who have supported the Eigenlayer network.
Token claims will be available on or before September 17, 2024, and rewards will be based on staking participation, ecosystem contributions, and early support for the project.
The largest portion of the rewards, approximately 70 million EIGEN tokens, is allocated to stakers and operators who were actively involved during Season 2.
These tokens will be distributed according to each staker’s pro-rata share of ETH-hours, ensuring a fair distribution without a minimum threshold to prevent Sybil attacks.
Eligible participants can claim their tokens through the foundation’s dedicated portal.
The Eigen Foundation noted, “The treatment of reward quantities for LRT protocols is 100% identical to everyone else participating and supporting Eigenlayer through staking and operating in other ways.”
Ecosystem partners, including validators and key contributors, will share in 10 million EIGEN tokens.
The foundation emphasised that all partners’ contributions are equally important and will be rewarded accordingly.
Additionally, about 6 million tokens are reserved for community members.
Participants must verify their social identity to claim these rewards, with further details on the program’s mechanics and additional incentives expected to be released soon.
The stakedrop highlights Eigenlayer’s commitment to rewarding active participants and contributors in its network.
Community members and ecosystem partners are encouraged to stay engaged with the foundation and their respective LRT protocols to receive the latest information on token claims and distribution.
