Wintermute OTC trader: The premium of Bitcoin call options is relatively high compared to put options
According to a report by Jake Ostrovskis, an over-the-counter trader at Wintermute, options traders have pushed up the premiums of almost all call options contracts with maturities exceeding one day, with the premiums of call options on Bitcoin being relatively higher than those of put options. David Lawant, research director at FalconX, said, "This indicates that investors are using the options market more as a tool to capture potential upside rather than as a hedge against downside risk. For other cryptocurrencies besides Bitcoin, I think opinions are more divided. There is less consensus in the market on how these alternative cryptocurrencies may perform in different election scenarios." (Bloomberg)
