25-Year-Old Missing Crypto Influencer Found Dead in Montreal
Canadian authorities have confirmed the discovery of 25-year-old cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi’s body in Île-de-la-Visitation park in Montreal.
Police located the remains on October 30, marking the end of an investigation that began with Mirshahi’s disappearance in late June. Mirshahi had been abducted alongside three others from a condo in Old Montreal, but while the others were released unharmed, Mirshahi remained missing, raising fears of foul play.
Though Mirshahi had been presumed dead since at least August of this year, authorities have now discovered and identified his remains.
Mirshahi was the founder of Crypto Paradise Island, an investment firm scrutinized by Quebec’s securities regulator, Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
In 2021, the AMF launched an investigation into the firm, eventually banning Mirshahi, two associates, and the firm itself from conducting any securities or investment activities in July 2024. The order also mandated the removal of social media content associated with the firm.
In August, Montreal police arrested a 32-year-old woman believed to be involved in the abductions and Mirshahi’s death. She faces charges of first-degree murder, among other accusations.
