Account Balance Management, Spending Limits, and Fee Schedule

Account Balance and Spending Power

To determine how much you can spend with your Bitget Card, follow these steps:

Step 1: Check Your Available Balance:

Ensure you have sufficient funds in your Bitget USDT funding account. The available balance is the amount you can use for transactions. We will soon enable BTC, ETH, USDC, and BGB spending for your Bitget Card, too.

Step 2: Consider the Temporary Frozen Amount:

When you authorize a transaction, Bitget temporarily freezes 120% of the transaction amount. This extra 20% acts as a security measure to cover any potential fees or charges.

The unfreezing process usually occurs as soon as the transaction is cleared, but it may take some time to be reflected in your Bitget Card balance due to Visa and/or bank processing.

Step 3: Calculate Your Spending Power:

Your effective spending power is the amount in your funding account divided by 1.2. This ensures you have enough to cover both the transaction and the temporary freeze.

Example Calculation

Available Balance: $1,200

Effective Spending Power: $1,200 / 1.2 = $1,000

In this example, with an available balance of $1,200, you can spend up to $1,000. The additional $200 will be temporarily held and released once the transaction is cleared.

Example Scenarios

Case 1: USD Transaction

● Transaction Amount: $1,000

● Crypto Conversion Fee: 0.9%

● Calculation: $1,000 x 0.9% = $9

Total Fee: $9

Case 2: Non-USD Transaction

● Transaction Amount: $1,000 (in Euros)

● Crypto Conversion Fee: 0.9%

● Foreign Transaction Fee: 0.5% (Bitget) + 1% (Visa and issuer)

● Calculation: $1,000 x 0.9% = $9

● Foreign Transaction Fee: $1,000 x 1.5% = $15

Total Fee: $24

Case 3: USD ATM Withdrawal

● Withdrawal Amount: $500

● Crypto Conversion Fee: 0.9%

● ATM Withdrawal Fee: $0.65 + 2%

● Calculation: Crypto Conversion Fee = $500 x 0.9% = $4.5

● ATM Withdrawal Fee = $0.65 + (2% of $500) = $0.65 + $10 = $10.65

Total Fee: $15.15

Case 4: Non-USD ATM Withdrawal

● Withdrawal Amount: $500 (in Euros)

● Crypto Conversion Fee: 0.9%

● ATM Withdrawal Fee: $0.65 + 2%

● Foreign Transaction Fee: 0.5% (Bitget) + 1% (Visa and issuer)

● Calculation: Crypto Conversion Fee = $500 x 0.9% = $4.5

● ATM Withdrawal Fee = $0.65 + (2% of $500) = $10.65

● Foreign Transaction Fee = $500 x 1.5% = $7.5

Total Fee: $22.65
