HashKey Exchange obtained approval HK SFC to become the first cryptocurrency exchange to offer retail services in Hong Kong. The registration process indicates that non-Hong Kong residents can also apply for registration.
announced that its regulated crypto exchange HashKey Exchange has been approved by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) to upgrade its Type 1 and Type 7 licenses, becoming the first exchange to offer retail services in Hong Kong.
HashKey Exchange has officially opened pre-registration, and registered users will be rewarded with HashKey EcoPoints ($HSK).
As a Hong Kong compliant exchange, is it only accessible to Hong Kong residents? The registration process indicates that the restricted countries and regions include commonly sanctioned countries/regions such as Afghanistan, Russia, etc., while it accepts customers residing in jurisdictions where virtual assets are not restricted.
In other words, the exchange provides services to non-Hong Kong residents, and customers from the countries shown in the second part of the image would need to provide overseas address verification and phone numbers to register on the exchange.
