Fidelity files securities registration application with SEC for its spot Bitcoin ETF
Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart reported that Fidelity has submitted a securities registration application for its spot Bitcoin ETF to the SEC. The Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) has also approved the registration, with the registration code being FBTC.
James stated that this is just a securities registration and needs to be completed before the ETF is launched. It does not mean that the ETF has been approved or anything else. In order to be listed, the ETF still needs 19b-4 approval and a valid/approved/complete S-1 file. The 19b-4 is not yet complete, and the S-1 is still in the preliminary stage, with progress expected next week.
