Polyhedra Network launches zkBridge-based Bitcoin interoperability ecosystem
According to official sources, Polyhedra Network has launched a Bitcoin cross-chain messaging protocol based on zkBridge. This is a zero-trust and efficient cross-chain solution based on zero-knowledge proof technology, aimed at expanding the functionality of Bitcoin and enabling it to interact with various blockchain networks, including various layer-one and layer-two blockchain networks. zkBridge is working with developers to apply various infrastructure, Bitcoin layer-two networks, wallets, DeFi protocols, and tools to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Through zkBridge, the Bitcoin network can now securely transmit its current and historical data to more than 20 blockchain networks, including Bitcoin layer-two, Ethereum, and Ethereum layer-two. The protocol is also compatible with emerging assets in the Bitcoin network, such as Ordinals, BRC-20, and Atomicals. It allows smart contracts on other blockchain networks (such as Ethereum and Bitcoin layer-two) to access Bitcoin data and protocols without trust and perform various computational logic, with security guaranteed by zero-knowledge proof technology.
In addition, zkBridge's solution introduces a proof-of-stake mechanism, where validators can pledge tokens on the sending chain to be authorized to write data on the Bitcoin network, ensuring secure cross-chain transactions. By integrating with infrastructure such as EigenLayer and Babylon, and introducing a confiscation mechanism to enhance the security of the system through encrypted economics.
