Samsung Asset Utilization (Hong Kong): Does not rule out the launch of virtual asset ETFs
Xiao Peiling, ETF investment strategist of Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong), the issuer of Hong Kong virtual currency futures ETF, revealed that the company currently has related futures products and is also interested in spot products. It is not ruled out that they will be launched, but there are no updates for now. Many banks have not distributed virtual currency futures ETFs, and even if spot ETFs are launched, they may face related issues. However, Wang Zhuofeng, general manager of the sales department (Asia-Pacific region) of Southern Dongying, another issuer of virtual currency futures ETFs, stated that futures ETF operations are relatively simple and can avoid systemic risks, while spot ETFs have higher dependence on risk management and counterparties related to custody and trading. Currently, launching another similar product is not very cost-effective, and market demand will be observed before considering it.
