Polygon Labs releases Type 1 zkEVM prover
Polygon Labs announced a collaboration with Toposware to develop a new Type 1 zkEVM verifier.
It is reported that the Type 1 zkEVM verifier allows any network that is compatible with the Ethereum EVM standard to become a second-layer network supported by zero-knowledge proofs and connected to Polygon's wider network ecosystem. The Type 1 zkEVM verifier can even generate these ZK proofs for Ethereum mainnet blocks, with an average cost of 0.002-0.003 USD per transaction. The Type 1 verifier is open source and can be obtained on GitHub, with licenses from MIT and Apache 2.0.
