Michael Saylor ’s business intelligence firm MicroStrategy reportedly fell victim to a cyberattack on its official X (Twitter) account.
On February 26, several accounts on X alerted users to a likely hack on MicroStrategy’s account, sharing a screenshot of a post that contained phishing links to a fake page distributing the company’s “official Ethereum token,” dubbed “MSTR.”

In response to Spreek’s alert, popular blockchain detective ZachXBT alleged that $440,000 belonging to an unnamed victim’s wallet address had been “stolen from the compromise so far.”
While ZachXBT didn’t give much details about the stolen funds, anti-scam platform Scam Sniffer had issued an update earlier, explaining how the victim lost thousands of dollars in assorted altcoins at about 12:43 am UTC, only five minutes after phishing links were shared on MicroStrategy’s account.
According to Scam Sniffer, the phishing link tricked the victim into signing a Uniswap Permit2 permit batch signature, giving “multiple token approvals to the spender.” The transaction saw $134,000 wBAI, $122,000 CHEX, and $45,000 wPOKT stolen.
Cumulatively, the victim lost $424,786 in three transactions. The first transaction was sent directly to the alleged MicroStrategy attacker, while two were automatically rerouted to another address associated with the dreaded hacking group PinkDrainer.
As of press time, the alleged MicroStrategy’s attacker address held 62.97 ETH, worth approximately $195,907.52. MicroStrategy had not yet issued a statement addressing the matter.
