Riot Platforms spends $97.4 million to purchase over 30,000 Bitcoin mining machines
Bitcoin mining giant Riot Platforms has purchased 31,500 mining machines from MicroBT for a price of $97.4 million. It is reported that this purchase will increase the company's self-mining computing power at its factory in Rockdale, Texas from 12.4 EH/s to 15.1 EH/s by the end of July.
Riot revealed in December last year that it had spent $290.5 million to purchase 66,000 mining machines and may choose to purchase another 265,000 MicroBT mining machines under the same conditions. In the long run, this will help increase its hash rate to over 100 EH/s.
