CertiK: Cryptocurrency losses hit record low in April
The latest data from blockchain security company CertiK shows that in April, losses of encrypted assets due to hacker attacks, vulnerability exploits, and fraud amounted to approximately $25.7 million, setting a historic low for the company since it began tracking related data in 2021. CertiK pointed out that the total loss of encrypted assets in April decreased by 141% compared to the previous month. Among them, exit scams caused losses of approximately $4.3 million, flash loans caused losses of approximately $129,000, and contract vulnerabilities attacks caused losses of approximately $21 million. According to blockchain security company Immunefi's previous statistics, the cryptocurrency industry lost a total of $336 million due to hacker attacks and fraud in the first quarter of 2024. In the whole year of 2023, the total amount of cryptocurrency funds stolen by hackers was about $1.8 billion, which was half of the $4 billion in the previous year.
