U.S. CFTC Chairman: A wave of cryptocurrency enforcement actions will occur in the next six months to two years
As reported by The Block, Rostin Behnam, the Chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), said during a chat at the 27th Annual Milken Institute Global Conference that he expects the next "enforcement cycle" to occur within the next six months to two years.Behnam said: "From my regulatory perspective, we may see another enforcement cycle in the next six to eighteen or twenty-four months, because of this cycle of asset appreciation and retail investor interest. Without a regulatory framework, without transparency, without the tools that we as regulators typically use, you will continue to see this fraud and manipulation."
