zkSync will be upgraded on May 13th, adding new features such as P256Verify and Bridgehub
Ramon, the product delivery manager of Matter Labs, posted on the X platform that zkSync will be upgraded on May 13th. This upgrade mainly includes four items:
1. P256Verify: This pre-compile allows for signature verification of the secp256r1 elliptic curve and adds ecAdd, ecMul, and ecPairing pre-compiles;
2. Bridgehub: unlocks the basic components of ZK Stack chain interoperability, aiming to seamlessly connect cross-chain transactions;
3. Regarding ZK Stack, the protocol work supporting Validium, custom DA layer, and custom base tokens has also been completed. With some upcoming server changes, these changes will be available on ZK Stack chains;
4. Support for .transfer/.send calls without providing Gas, which can unlock ETH stuck in contracts deployed without following best code practices.
