Lightning Labs CEO: Bitcoin-based stablecoin is coming soon
Lightning Labs CEO Elizabeth Stark has stated that a stablecoin based on Bitcoin is soon to be launched. The stablecoin running on Bitcoin is becoming a reality with the new features built on the Taproot upgrade, which will be implemented by the end of 2021, using Lightning Labs. The Bitcoin network may be the most suitable blockchain for stablecoin usage, especially when countries are facing inflation and currency devaluation issues. She also emphasized that the adoption of stablecoins has seen a sharp increase during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in emerging markets.
