The number of new runes etched daily on Bitcoin has dropped below 250
The number of new runes carved on Bitcoin each day has dropped to below 250 in the past six days, with 157 runes carved on Monday, a 99% decrease from the peak at the end of April. According to the Dune Analytics dashboard created by RUNES, an average of 14,700 new runes were carved each day from April 26th to 30th, with a record 23,061 runes carved on April 26th.
Since its launch on April 20th, Runes has paid a total of $4.5 million in transaction fees to Bitcoin miners, averaging about $189 per day. So far, more than 91,200 runes have been carved on Bitcoin.
