Polymarket's "Ethereum ETF Approval" Prediction Market Results Spark Controversy
PANews reported on May 24 that, according to Cointelegraph, after the SEC announced the approval of several spot Ethereum ETF 19b-4 applications this morning, the prediction market Polymarket executed the bet on "Will a spot Ethereum ETF be approved before May 31?" with a YES result. However, this result sparked controversy within the community. Users who supported the NO result argued that this execution was not rigorous, as the approval of an ETF requires the joint approval of both the 19b-4 and S-1 filings. Since the S-1 result is still pending, it should not have closed with a YES. It is worth noting that the prize pool for this Polymarket bet reached as high as $13 million.
