Algorand Foundation’s new ad slams BTC, ETH, and Solana
The Algorand Foundation has released a new advertisement on YouTube titled "When Blockchain Meets the Real World, Only One Can Deliver". The advertisement shows a supermarket checkout counter where shoppers attempt to pay with three different cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. In the advertisement, the person trying to pay with Bitcoin is told by the cashier that they must wait because the transaction will take 27 minutes. The person trying to pay with Ethereum is told that the transaction will cost $112, and the shopper who chooses Solana is unable to pay because the transaction keeps failing.
Using Algorand to process the customer checkout queue results in "instant completion, low fees." The advertisement has been viewed over 700,000 times on X, and one commenter said, "Algorand's speed of operation is 21 TPS, which cannot provide funding for its main explorers, but they have invested over $100,000 in advertising. This is not the way to do things."
