AMD plans to launch MI350 chip series, to be launched in 2025
Lisa Su, CEO of chip maker AMD, announced at the COMPUTEX 2024 exhibition that their latest generation of CPUs may be launched in the second half of 2024. In addition, the MI325X accelerator will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Furthermore, AMD will release the MI350 chip series, expected to be launched in 2025, based on a new chip architecture. Compared to the existing MI300 series of artificial intelligence chips, the MI350 is expected to improve performance in inference (the process of computing generative AI responses) by 35 times.
Additionally, AMD will also release the MI400 series in 2026, which will be based on an architecture called "Next." (The Economic Times)
