PleasrDAO files lawsuit against Martin Shkreli over Wu-Tang Clan album copyright
Decentralized autonomous organization PleasrDAO has filed a lawsuit against former Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli (also known as pharma bro). PleasrDAO is known for collecting digital and physical art, sharing ownership among DAO members, and donating to charity. The lawsuit is in response to Shkreli allegedly live streaming Wu-Tang Clan's album (which was purchased by PleasrDAO in 2021) during the X Spaces event on June 9. PleasrDAO accuses Shkreli of causing undue harm and cites "significant monetary and irreparable damages" in their official complaint. In 2021, PleasrDAO purchased the Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin through two separate transactions in asset forfeiture auctions for approximately $4.75 million.
