The encrypted cloud storage platform Storj acquires cloud computing company Valdi
PANews reported on July 9th, according to CoinDesk, the crypto-supported cloud storage platform Storj announced that it has acquired high-performance cloud computing provider Valdi, adding Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) computing capabilities for its enterprise customers. In a press release, Storj stated that the Valdi network consists of more than 16,000 GPUs worldwide and provides on-demand processing capabilities for artificial intelligence (AI) training in technology, research and life sciences industries. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Storj said that Valdi aims to solve the GPU shortage problem brought about by the growth of the AI market by allowing customers to use GPU computing cycles available in data centers around the world.
