Greenidge expands bitcoin mining operations in Mississippi
Bitcoin mining company Greenidge Generation Holdings Inc. has established a new mining site in Mississippi, expanding its Bitcoin mining business. The site, which has 2,400 Bitcoin mining machines, began operating on July 1, 2024, with plans to further increase production capacity over the next few months. The site currently has a power capacity of 8.5 megawatts and plans to add an additional 25 megawatts within the next 12 months.
With the addition of the Mississippi mining site, Greenidge now operates four Bitcoin mining facilities in the United States and Canada, with a total power generation capacity of 122 megawatts and approximately 8,000 mining machines. The company further stated that it is exploring opportunities to develop, purchase, lease, or sell properties to support its growth strategy.
