CoinStats releases security incident report: $2.2 million worth of crypto assets stolen from 1,590 wallets
CoinStats has released a latest report on the security incident that occurred on June 22 due to unauthorized access to some of its infrastructure and third-party service providers. The report shows that the attacker managed to obtain the private keys of 1590 CoinStats wallets, resulting in the theft of approximately $2.2 million worth of cryptocurrencies. It has been confirmed that no connected wallets or exchanges were affected. As of July 3, 2024, all CoinStats functions have been fully restored and are now fully operational. Currently, an investigation into the entire scope of the violation is still ongoing.
Previously, on June 24, the CEO of CoinStats released a security incident update, stating that a total of approximately $2 million worth of wallets were stolen.
