Vitalik: The most successful new ideologies of the past decade tend to focus on specific issues rather than meta-levels

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin wrote on the Warpcast platform that he noticed the most successful new ideologies in the past decade were often very specific problem-oriented (i.e. prescriptions for specific problems), and relatively less involved in the meta-level (i.e. social processes about how to make decisions on specific problems). Here are some examples:· Abstract libertarianism appears weaker compared to ten years ago. But its version that is oriented towards specific problems is quite successful, such as YIMBY (housing issues) and the cryptocurrency field.· e/acc (theoretically involving all technologies, but practically focusing mainly on artificial intelligence)· The biggest branch of effective altruism has shifted from the meta-level of "trying harder to ensure your donations bring the greatest benefit" to the specific level (such as AI safety, and small amounts of animal welfare and global public health)· Longevity movement Perhaps the movements of network states and Glen and Audrey's diversity are two exceptions - but overall, the above phenomenon seems to be a strong pattern. Why do you think this shift from the meta-level to the specific level is happening?
