Trump has raised over $4 million in crypto donations, more than half in Bitcoin
Donald Trump has raised more than $4 million in cryptocurrency, with contributors having donated bitcoin, ethereum, XRP, and USDC, CNBC reports. at least 19 donors have given more than $2.15 million in bitcoin to the committee. Cryptocurrency billionaire twins Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss led the way, each donating 15.57 Bitcoin, or just over $1 million at the time of donation. Mike Belshe, CEO of digital asset security firm BitGo, donated $50,000 in bitcoin, Jesse Powell, founder and former CEO of Kraken, donated nearly $845,000 in ethereum, and Ripple's chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty donated $300,000 in XRP tokens. Ryan Selkis, former CEO of Messari, donated $50,000 in USDC.
