Concord stated its stance to have no game passes prior to the game’s full release on August 23rd. The announcement drew players’ attention on social media. Firewalk Studios, the game developers, announced that the game’s progression system will reward players who grind in the game. Firewalk also stated that Concord will get more post-launch content, such as modes and maps, from updates and season releases.

Concord announces future development plans

Concord is a live hero shooter title that will be released on PC and PS5 on August 23rd. Concord’s release on Steam Beta was reportedly poor despite the game having solid foundations. The launch on Steam drew some negative reviews from players. After the failed beta release, Firewalk Studios made a public statement about the game’s future development. The statement released addressed monetization, progression, and post-release content.

Firewalk Studios will develop the game without Battle Passes. Firewalk explained that the decision was made to ensure players have a robust and rewarding experience. The decision allows gamers to progress by leveling their characters and accounts and completing missions to earn rewards. The gaming studio also mentioned that the game’s rewards would not affect the gameplay. Concord’s rewards will include skins, wearables, weapon charms, and outfits. These rewards are cosmetic and will have minimal effect on the game’s player mechanics.

The announcement featured another reveal of the game’s content. Firewalk Studios revealed that Concord will have 12 maps on release. The game will also feature all six modes during its beta launch. The modes included are Takedown, Trophy Hunt, Area Control, Signal Chase, Clash Point, and Cargo Run. Firewalk also stated that more content will be included in regular updates and season releases. The content included in these releases includes Freegunners, maps, and more unspecified content. Firewalk also stated that the game will have several in-game cinematic videos.

Concord’s “No battle pass” decision draws player attention

Concord drew negative attention during its beta Steam launch, which resulted in poor performance. The game’s developers’ decision not to make it free-to-play lessened its popularity further. The game’s poor performance drew criticism from players who criticized its price point and mentioned that it would benefit greatly from a delay. MrGhOstDa2nd stated that the developers should delay the game as it will be hard for it to stand out in the current game environment that is full of free-to-play competitors.

“Please delay it and add PvE. It’s going to be hard to stand out in this environment. Game is fun but you’ll need more to survive.

However, after Concord’s latest announcement, the game has grabbed the players’ attention. Players have taken to social media platforms to discuss the announcement. Firewalk’s announcement has drawn mixed reactions from players, with many calling the decision a positive for the game. JakeAGame stated that the game’s decision to give users great, quality content without microtransactions made him a fan. On the other hand, some fans criticized the move, stating that it would foil the game’s long-term business.
