dYdX domain name hijacked, causing users to lose about $31,000, promised full compensation
On July 26th, DEX dYdX announced that the domain registrar for dydx.exchange (formerly Squarespace) confirmed unauthorized access to dYdX Trading's Squarespace account on July 23rd, due to successful social engineering attacks on Squarespace customer support. Within approximately 2 hours of the dydx.exchange domain being hijacked, 2 users lost a total of approximately $31,000. dYdX Trading has contacted these users and will ensure they receive full compensation. After securing the domain's safety, dYdX has added additional controls to prevent such incidents from happening again, including migrating the domain to Cloudflare.
