Sui mainnet will integrate Mysticeti, a DAG-based consensus algorithm
Sui announced on Twitter that its mainnet will integrate the DAG-based consensus algorithm Mysticeti, which will be rolled out in several steps over the next few weeks. The official statement said that Mysticeti achieved consensus on the testnet in 390 milliseconds and final settlement in 640 milliseconds, reducing delays by 80% compared to Narwhal-Bullshark. In addition to decoupling delays and throughput, the algorithm can also maintain high throughput even in the event of network and node failures. Furthermore, Mysticeti validators can sign and share blocks without authentication, and its submission rules will naturally appoint multiple leaders each round, allowing more transactions to be processed on the chain in advance.
