Wisconsin Investment Commissioner Now Holds Nearly $100 Million in Ryder Spot Bitcoin ETF
The State of Wisconsin Investment Board increased its holdings of Bitcoin spot ETF in the second quarter of 2024. According to the 13-F file submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the committee increased its holdings of 447,651 shares of the BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), bringing its total holdings to 2,898,051 shares, with a quarter-end value of $98.9 million.At the same time, the committee liquidated its previous $63.7 million holdings of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC). Although the number of IBIT holdings increased, its US dollar value actually decreased by $228,227 due to the price drop.In addition, the committee also purchased 5,980 shares of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase stock and 77,996 shares of Bitcoin mining company Marathon Digital stock.As of August 13th, IBIT ranked first in the Bitcoin spot ETF market share with 58.8%, followed closely by GBTC with a share of 15.2%.
