Trump considers Elon Musk for cabinet position
Former President Donald Trump recently mentioned in an interview with Reuters that he would consider offering Tesla CEO Elon Musk a Cabinet position or advisory role if re-elected.
Trump praised Musk as a valuable political ally and suggested that the billionaire’s involvement in his administration would be contingent on Musk's willingness to accept the role.
This statement follows a recent interview Musk conducted with Trump on his platform X, formerly known as Twitter, where Trump lauded the quality of Musk's electric vehicles.
Trump acknowledged his mixed views on electric vehicles, expressing appreciation for Musk’s products while also supporting gasoline-powered cars and hybrids.
Musk had previously indicated support for President Joe Biden in the 2020 election but has since shifted his stance, endorsing Trump after an assassination attempt on the former president.
Despite earlier denials from Musk regarding any discussions about a White House role, Trump’s recent comments suggest a potential future collaboration between the two.
During their conversation on X, Trump expressed enthusiasm for Musk's idea of creating a “government efficiency commission,” with Musk indicating his interest in contributing to such an initiative.
Trump’s openness to involving Musk in his administration highlights the growing political connection between the two influential figures.
The possibility of Musk playing a role in a future Trump administration could have significant implications for the direction of U.S. policy, particularly in areas related to technology and efficiency.
While no formal discussions have taken place, the dialogue between Trump and Musk signals a potential alignment of their interests in the event of a second Trump term.
