Trump Becomes Favorite to Win Presidential Election Again, Surpassing Harris in Bookmakers' Predictions
Bookmakers are now predicting that former President Donald Trump has a higher chance of winning the presidential election than Vice President Kamala Harris. This shift occurred after independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hinted at dropping out of the race and supporting Trump. The crypto-based betting platform Polymarket saw the biggest swing in favor of Trump, with bettors now predicting he has a 52% chance of winning compared to Harris' 47%. However, bookmakers on the New Zealand-based PredictIt still predict a Harris victory with strong odds of 56 cents per share. The Election Betting Odds tracker shows Trump with a 49.3% chance of winning in November, compared to Harris' 49.1%, marking a significant swing in Trump's favor. PredictIt has been sued by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for allowing election-related betting, despite only allowing participation from US residents above the age of 18.
