Bitcoin startup TMRW receives $1.3 million in funding led by Maple VC
Bitcoin startup TMRW based in Miami announced the completion of a $1.3 million seed round financing for the development of a social payment application based on the Bitcoin Lightning Network. The round was led by Maple VC, with participation from Bitcoin angel investors Brad Mills and others.TMRW plans to use the speed and low cost characteristics of the Lightning Network to achieve cross-border peer-to-peer payments through Lightspark and ZeroHash. The application uses the Lightning Network-based open payment standard Universal Money Addresses, which enables instant transfers of fiat and Bitcoin across borders. This allows TMRW to provide fast and low-cost remittance services to regions such as the Caribbean, with significant advantages over traditional providers.TMRW is piloting in the Caribbean and has opened an iOS test version to US users.
