Argentina adds Ethereum and blockchain to high school curricula
The ETH Kipu Foundation, an organisation dedicated to advancing the Ethereum ecosystem in Latin America, has partnered with the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires to incorporate Ethereum and blockchain education into high school curricula.
This collaboration marks a significant step in equipping Argentina’s youth with the skills necessary for the emerging tech economy, particularly in blockchain and smart contract technologies.
Starting on August 27, high school students in Buenos Aires will have the opportunity to participate in professional internships within blockchain projects, providing them with hands-on experience in the field.
Additionally, the partnership includes the development of an online Solidity course, the programming language used to develop applications on the Ethereum blockchain (CRYPTO:ETH).
The course will be aimed at training 500 students aged 18 and over, preparing them to join the Ethereum development community and create apps that can be integrated into local businesses.
To ensure the success of this educational initiative, the ETH Kipu Foundation is also providing hybrid training programs for 30 teachers, enabling them to effectively teach Ethereum and blockchain concepts.
Paula D., a co-founder of the ETH Kipu Foundation, expressed optimism about the potential impact of this program, highlighting that it could open new career opportunities for young Argentines and position the country as a leader in the global blockchain movement.
The initiative represents a forward-thinking approach to education in Argentina, aiming to prepare the next generation for careers in the rapidly growing blockchain industry.
While the program is currently focused on Buenos Aires, there is potential for expansion to other cities or provinces, though no specific plans have been announced.
