Polymarket Bets on Len Sassaman as Satoshi for HBO Doc
A new HBO documentary from Emmy-nominated filmmaker Cullen Hoback, director of Q: Into the Storm, promises to name the real identity behind Bitcoin’s mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Hoback, who famously unmasked the individual behind the QAnon conspiracy theory, is now turning his attention to solving one of the greatest mysteries in the crypto world.
The upcoming film has sparked renewed interest, especially on the prediction market platform Polymarket, where bettors are speculating on who Satoshi might be. Len Sassaman, a renowned cryptographer who tragically took his own life in 2011, leads the predictions with 46% of the bets.
Sassaman’s long history of academic work on cryptography, paired with his deep commitment to privacy and decentralization, aligns closely with the principles espoused by Bitcoin’s anonymous founder. His disappearance from public life also coincides with the time Satoshi stopped posting on Bitcoin forums.
