Vaneck, an investment management firm, has introduced a $30 million early-stage venture fund focused on fintech, digital assets, and artificial intelligence (AI) startups.
The fund, named Vaneck Ventures, will invest in pre-seed and seed-stage companies developing technologies like blockchain and tokenized assets.
According to Vaneck, the fund aims to invest in 25 to 35 startups, with investments ranging from $500,000 to $1 million.
This move is part of the firm’s approach to targeting areas that it sees as transformative for the financial industry, including AI, fintech, and digital assets.
The fund is led by industry professionals Wyatt Lonergan and Juan Lopez, both of whom have previous experience at Circle Ventures.
While Vaneck Ventures has already made four investments, further details have not yet been disclosed.
According to the firm, this venture fund is part of Vaneck’s ongoing strategy of identifying key areas for growth, having previously been involved in gold and Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) markets.
