Bitmain has rolled out two new Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) mining machines, the air-cooled Antminer S21+ and the hydro-cooled Antminer S21+, which offer hashrates of 216 terahash per second (TH/s) and 319 TH/s, respectively.

These machines aim to improve the efficiency of Bitcoin mining while maintaining strong performance.

According to Bitmain’s specifications, the hydro-cooled Antminer S21+ operates with a power efficiency of 15 joules per terahash (J/T), while the air-cooled model provides 16.5 J/T.

These energy efficiency levels are seen as beneficial for miners looking to optimize performance while managing energy consumption.

The release of these models comes at a time when Bitcoin’s overall network hashrate hit a record high of 698 exahash per second (EH/s) on October 10, 2024.

The new models were launched amid increasing competition in the mining industry, with other companies like Auradine, Microbt, and Canaan also releasing new mining equipment this year.

According to industry reports, the introduction of more energy-efficient and high-performance machines is expected to enhance the computational power of the Bitcoin network, contributing to its growth.

Bitmain’s latest machines follow the trend of improving both power efficiency and computational strength.

These advancements are part of the broader effort to keep up with the network's growing demand as the Bitcoin hashrate continues to rise.

With these updates, miners may see a balance between performance and energy consumption, helping the Bitcoin network scale further.

Based on current trends, such innovations are key to maintaining the pace of technological development within the mining sector as the demand for more efficient mining rigs continues to grow.

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price was $59,977.11.
