According to a new survey by Francisco Gavidia University, only 7.5% of respondents in El Salvador reported using cryptocurrency for transactions, while 92% admitted to not using cryptocurrency and only 1.3% believed that Bitcoin is the country's main future development direction. In addition, about 58% of respondents said they believe the country is moving in the right direction, with the majority supporting President Bukele. In an interview with Time magazine in August, President Bukele said that the number of Salvadorans using Bitcoin was lower than expected and that "Bitcoin has not been widely adopted as we expected."
