NFT activity on Telegram surged 400% in Q3: Report
As Telegram users increasingly engage with Web3, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are gaining traction on the messaging app platform.
According to a report by Web3 data provider Helika, NFT activity on Telegram surged by 400% in the third quarter.
In its “Q3 ‘24 Telegram Games Report,” Helika’s data showed that the number of unique wallets transferring NFTs daily in Telegram surged from fewer than 200,000 in July to over one million in September.
NFT usage grows on Telegram
Helika noted that Telegram gamers are highly active, purchasing, sending and using NFTs within games. The company said:
“Our data indicates that gamers on Telegram are not just creating wallets but are also actively engaging with NFTs, suggesting a dynamic and vibrant level of interaction within the ecosystem.”
Helika also said that three million active wallets were recorded across nine Telegram games in September.

In addition to the increased NFT activity, Telegram gamers have also been playing longer. According to Helika, the average gaming session for a user increased from 2.8 minutes in August to 6.7 minutes at the start of October.
Helika attributed the growth to more immersive experiences offered by the platform.

Hamster Kombat to integrate NFTs
One of the most popular games on Telegram is Hamster Kombat. The game went viral after its release and has surpassed 300 million users .
On Sept. 25, the game revealed its plans to integrate NFTs . The Web3 clicker game said it would launch new games within its ecosystem and integrate NFTs as in-game assets. In its roadmap for the remainder of 2024 and 2025, the game revealed that it would integrate NFTs in its Season 2 in November.
On Oct. 17, the game released a trailer for its second season. Within the trailer, the game developers teased a new storyline involving players becoming CEOs of their own companies.
