Trump is set to return to the White House after four years and will meet with Biden

Local time on Wednesday, US President-elect Trump will return to the White House for the first time since his chaotic departure four years ago. Previously, Trump had nominated a series of key staff members, hoping to reshape the US government. Trump plans to meet with incumbent President Biden in the Oval Office, a ceremony symbolizing peaceful transition of power in America. However, Trump did not make this request to his successor Biden in 2020. The conversation between them was filled with drama and both were forced to hand over the White House to each other. Washington has already begun transitioning towards Trump's second term which will begin next January. James Pfiffner, a professor at George Mason University who studies presidential transitions said that this is mainly symbolic. Despite their bad mouthing each other, it is expected that this will be an amicable meeting. This meeting may also provide Biden with an opportunity to try and influence Trump's policies especially on national security issues because on these matters; Trump has not yet been exposed to classified information held by Biden over the past four years.
