Base: One Billion Transactions, the collection unintentionally imitated Chris Biron's work and will give all its profits to him
Ethereum's second-layer network, Base, posted on platform X stating that it unintentionally imitated another artist's work when designing the One Billion Transactions commemorative collection on Zora. It did not cite the source and Base expressed regret for this oversight. All proceeds will be given to Chris Biron and they will also improve their process to ensure such incidents do not happen again. Yesterday, Base announced that it had reached a milestone of one billion transactions in a single day and launched a commemorative collection on Zora. Subsequently, artist Chris Biron claimed that this collection was a mixed copy of his early works and ironically, his original work was minted on the Base chain itself; thus implying that Base's commemorative collection is actually a "pirated" piece.
