Elon Musk agrees with economist Friedman's view, the Department of Agriculture and Commerce may "disappear"
Elon Musk and billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy will jointly lead Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), they are already considering which government departments can be cut. On Wednesday, Musk mentioned the famous economist Milton Friedman's view decades ago about the bloated structure of the government.
He stated, "Milton Friedman's view is the best." In an interview, Friedman listed a roster of federal agencies that should not have been established in the first place, as well as those he considered important. According to Friedman, the Department of Agriculture and Commerce should "disappear" immediately but keep the Department of Defense.
