Fed reserves fall below $3 trillion, lowest level since 2020
the reserve of the US banking system - a crucial factor in the Federal Reserve's decision to continue reducing its balance sheet - fell to about $2.89 trillion in the week ending January 1, below the $3 trillion mark and reaching its lowest level since October 2020. According to data released by the Federal Reserve on Thursday, this was the largest weekly decline in more than two and a half years.
